This is a great easy lotion bar recipe base for any kind of lotion bar. You will need to adjust the oil and wax if you have some extreme temperatures where you are to make sure its perfect.
I made this lovely PEACE lotion bar recipe for international peace day, so I used calming essential oils such as lavender and chamomile. The coconut oil is nourishing for all skin types even the mosts sensitive, while the beeswax and coca butter is protective and healing for dry or damaged skin.
This would make a lovely gift for friends and family too.
Lavender PEACE Lotion Bar Recipe
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup cocoa butter
1/4 cup beeswax
20 drops of good quality lavender essential oil
10 drops of chamomile essential oil.
On a very low heat gently melt the cocoa butter, beeswax and coconut oil together. Remove from the heat and stir through the essential oils.
Be careful not to add the essential oils to a very hot mix because their therapeutic qualities and fragrance will diminish. If you are in a hot climate you may need to add a tablespoon of extra beeswax because the bar may be too soft. The same applies if you are in the middle of a cold winter, you may need to add a tablespoon of extra coconut oil so it isn’t rock hard.
This just makes your lotion bar recipe perfect to where you live.
Pour into a mould and allow a few hours in a cool place to set well. Use on your body as a skin softener, or as a peaceful rub before bedtime.
