These no bake honey & sesame bars are so delicious.  You will need to hide them from the kids, or they will disappear before they make it into the lunch boxes! They are full of sesame seeds, which are a good source of calcium, magnesium and manganese, and oats which are high in protein.  They contain no refined sugar, are dairy free, nut free and naturally sweetened with coconut sugar, and bush honey.

Honey & Sesame Bars

Ingredients:

10g coconut oil

100g bush honey

30g coconut sugar

60g sesame seeds

100g rolled oats

1/2 tsp cinnamon

pinch of sea sat

 

Method:

Melt coconut oil, honey and coconut sugar together in a saucepan.  Bring to the boil, add the salt and cinnamon. Continue to boil for 2-3 minutes, stir continually so that the mixture doesn’t burn.  

Remove from the heat, and add the oats and sesame seeds to the hot mixture.  Stir to combine and pour into a lined loaf sized pan.

Press down flat, you may need to use the back of an oiled spoon because the mixture will be sticky. 

Leave to set in the fridge for a couple of hours before slicing into small bars with a sharp knife.

Store in an air tight container in the fridge. Makes 10 bars.
